Wyong Shire’s beautiful lakes area will be taken over by more than 30 events when the inaugural Wyong Lakes Festival makes a big first year splash from 7 to 15 November.
The new nine day Festival is supported by Wyong Shire Council and will feature a program of sporting, family, cultural, educational and live music events on and surrounding the Tuggerah Lakes catchment area.
Celebrations will be focussed around the five key event hubs of Memorial Park, The Entrance; McKenzie Reserve at Budgewoi and the foreshores of Canton Beach at Toukley, Colungra Bay at Lake Munmorah and Long Jetty.The opening weekend will feature a spectacular evening light show, free breakfast by the lake, junior fishing competition, stand-up paddleboarding competition, art exhibition, market stalls and much more.
During the week there will be a range of education and community events culminating in the closing weekend with a new triathlon for the Central Coast, outdoor cinema, touch football competition, kayaking, live music and entertainment.
All events will be free for spectators to enjoy, with opportunities for people to participate in some of the events.
